THE SAFARI TRAIN
Operated exclusively by Taylors Africa Mobile Safaris The Safari Train is fun filled adventurous way to travel by from Bulawayo to Hwange return, combining railroad with a safari, for a quick weekend getaway!
WHO DOES THE SAFARI TRAIN APPEAL TO
The Safari Train is ideal for all ages, lifestyles and groups! The perfect way to celebrate a Birthday Milestone, Family or Friend reunion, or Corporate team building events. Ideal for a Wedding Party, Honeymoon or a Buddymoon tool.
TRAIN FACILITIES
The train can accomodate up to 60 passengers in shared sleeper cabins with shared ablution facilities, (running hot & cold water and flush toilets). There is a separate dining cart attached where meals and drinks are had onboard. For the more party going enthusiasts a dance floor carraige can be added too! Eletricity is provided . Fans only n the dining cart,. No air conditioning facilitiues.
BULAWAYO
TO HARARE
The first train to enter the Bulawayo Railway Station was in 1987. To this day, the station still holds its historical features, and trains are regularly used to transport passengers and cargo all around the country.
Onboard Taylors Africa’s private carraige, you will be dined, comfortable and relaxed whilst you travel on an amazing adventure acrossthe west side of one of Africa’s greatest countries to your next stop, the incredible Hwange National Park.
Bulawayo to Hwange
One Way – 266 Kms Round Trip – 532 Kms
- Meet no later than 12 pm at Bulawayo Club
- Lunch at the Bulawayo Club followed by a tour of the Railway Muesum
- Transfer to the Railway Railway Station (secure parking available for vechicles in bulawayo) for drinks in The First Class Lounge
- Board train at about 18:30pm for depature towards Dete siding at 19:30
- Arrival and unhitching in Dete siding at approx 2-3am
- Early morning tea coffee rusks are served on the train. Full breakfast or packed-to-go can be arranged.
- Head off for either full day/half day game viewing in the Park. Picnic lunch provided.
- If half day returns to Safari Lodge and spends the afternoon by the pool /masseuses available.
- As we bypass the train, day rooms at Safari Lodge are available to freshen up for dinner at Hwange Safari Lodge or you can shower on return to the train after dinner.
- Dinner at a lodge of our choosing and road transfer shortly after, back to the train.
- Same as the day before. The day spent in the park is at your discretion eg; what time you leave the train, how long you spend in the park etc. Totally up to you! We have multiple 10 seaters game viewing vehicles so we are able to split between those who would like to stay in the park and those who would like to relax by the pool
- Dinner at a lodge of our choosing and road transfer shortly after, back to the train.
- The train is reconnected that night at approx 3 am for departure back to Bulawayo.
- Arrival in Bulawayo mid-morning
- Transfer to vehicle collection point/or airport drops off.
- Safari completion

3 NIGHT WITH 2 FULL DAYS IN HWANGE NATIONAL PARK
